About the Artist

I like colors, shapes, lines, light and shadow.  I like things which have been created and I like to create things.  I like imagination, expression, music, nostalgia, silence and writings.  I like to be around people, to listen and speak, and also to be alone.  I try to capture all of this in my painting by using pastel, acrylic, watercolor and oil.

I was born and raised in Chile as the youngest in a large family.  After I married, I traveled over long periods with my husband and later with my two daughters, to many countries in Europe, Africa, South America and Asia.  Travel opened my eyes and increased my ability to see people, objects and art better.

I have studied at the Washington Studio School in Bethesda, MD. The McLean Project for the Arts with the Corcoran College of Art and Design Program,Virginia, and at The Yellow Barn Studio at Glen Echo, Maryland

My work has been exhibited and sold at the Ramp Gallery in McLean, Virginia;  at a private exhibition in Lewes, Delawere; in Bluemont, Virginia; The Turkey Mountain Art Gallery in Sperryville; The Art Group in Mount Jackson, Virginia; The Vienna Art Society, Virginia; Yellow Barn Studio, Maryland; Glen Echo Park, Maryland;Paolo's Restaurant, Georgetown DC. And Gallery-West, Alexandria Virginia.
